Beachbodies 6
Medium/Technique: Coloured pencil on paper
Year created: 2022
The “Beachbodies” series was created during my trip to Spain. All of them were drawn over the course of August on the beach at Muro (Mallorca).
“Beachbodies” depicts overlapping figures, some barely recognisable, in all manner of positions. Together, all the bodies blend into the crowd, forming a colourful, diverse jumble.
Amidst today’s obsession with perfection, the series aims to show just how diverse and beautiful bodies can be, and how quickly one can disappear into a crowd.
All drawings are dispatched unframed.
The series consists of nine drawings.
Sarah Hischemöller
“The artistic process is my space of discovery: a tentative progression, a series of exploratory movements.”
Sarah Hischemöller’s works emerge from collection, experimentation and engagement. Her work centres not on a specific medium or a clear outcome, but on the process itself. Understanding and insight arise through her engagement with materials.
She regards her artistic practice as a form of research. In doing so, she draws upon an open archive full of observations, images and inner states. This gives rise to spaces of resonance between figuration and fragment.
