Bergeline Altenburg

My name is Bergeline Altenburg; I was born in Port-au-Prince. I have been studying at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Bonn, Alfter, since 2018. At this university, I first completed a Bachelor’s degree in the Department of Art, Education and Therapy, and went on to study for a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Art Education. I am now enrolled on the Art programme.

My art collection mainly features figures and people. They appear on paper or canvas, where I let them ‘play’ with one another using bright colours. Alongside painting and drawing, I create small figures out of wire. Whether hanging or standing, several figures are united to form a whole. Photography is also an artistic medium I use. I find reflections, shadows and close-ups particularly interesting.

I have already had the opportunity to take part in three exhibitions with my art, which have positively influenced and motivated me in my artistic development.
