“Is this seat free?”
It’s rare in everyday life to find yourself with so many different people in such a confined space as on a crowded bus. Everyone comes from different places and everyone has a different destination, yet for this brief moment we all have something in common: we’re waiting, and it’s too cramped.
Inspired by paintings by Nicole Eisenman, each figure here has been rendered in a different way to highlight their diverse life stories.
Self-portrait.
Shipped in a poster tube with a signature on the back and a certificate of authenticity.
Julia Helena Ettenhuber
In her paintings, she explores the self and her surroundings, bringing them to life in a striking and sometimes humorous way through the use of bold colours. In doing so, she pays particular attention to the seemingly small and mundane moments in life. It is a kind of diary that invites the viewer to identify with the figures and to perceive everyday life
in a new light.
Her colourful and vibrant paintings have already won over audiences on numerous occasions; her works have been exhibited several times in the Regensburg area and Upper Bavaria:
