In this painting, the colours pink, rose, yellow and white blend together to create a vibrant interplay of emotions. Layers of paint were first applied and then parts of them scraped away, revealing hidden images and symbols in the background. The interplay of hidden elements and overt symbols tells a story of transience and rediscovery.
In the foreground, the eye is drawn to a broken wine glass, which serves as a metaphor for the fragility of life. Next to it stands a woman in a swimsuit, leaping with grace and determination into an invisible depth. The absence of water in the image heightens the sense of the unknown and leaves room for interpretation.
Ana Carmona Hernandez
Ana Carmona Hernandez is studying art as her major subject whilst training to be a teacher at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Her artistic work is characterised by a curiosity to continually discover new techniques and forms of expression. She is particularly fascinated by the effects of colours, shapes and moods, which she incorporates into her works. She works both digitally and with acrylics on canvas. She draws her inspiration primarily from everyday moments, Andalusian influences and the beauty of simplicity.
