Annika Hensmann
In my artistic work, I explore non-representational pictorial planes through painting and drawing. The canvas or paper serves as a meeting place for colours, forms and lines. Across different planes, the surfaces embark on an adventure. Through a process-oriented approach, densifications and freedoms emerge. Mostly intuitively, I apply layer upon layer to the surface, giving rise to abstract worlds. The colours and forms are swept along by movements, to which they react in different ways. Some dissolve and reform elsewhere in the picture, whilst others are carried along and embrace the adventure.Â
