Jennifer Janac
University of Cologne. Taught by Mirjam Thomann, Rainer Barzen and Gesine Kikol.
Maps, spaces, orientation and disorientation are central aspects of Janac’s art. They can be found everywhere in everyday life, sometimes in less obvious forms. Maps of all kinds, in particular, serve as a means of orientation. But what happens when they are stripped of this function? How does the experience of space change? Maps, spaces, orientation and disorientation constitute an inexhaustible field of research. Janac works across multiple media to shed light on themes and subjects from various perspectives.
