Description

The femme fatale. A French term for a ‘femme fatale’. This type of woman, regarded as particularly attractive and seductive, has appeared time and again throughout history. These days, it is impossible to imagine film and television without her. She manipulates men, undermines their morals and leads them fatally into misfortune. “She” promises romantic fulfilment and leaves the man alone with his hopes.

Her power, self-assurance and allure served as the inspiration for the work “A Quiet One”. She displays obvious characteristics of the stereotypical type, yet the focus is on the essential, right in the centre of the picture.

The artwork is created using coloured pencils and fineliners on paper.

Dimensions: 35cm x 35cm (the artwork is supplied unframed)

Michelle Mall

Biography

Michelle Mall was born on 11 July 1997 in Stuttgart. She completed a teacher training degree in biology and art at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim. She now works full-time as a teacher of this subject combination.

Her artistic work focuses on the study of nature, form and colour, as well as various contemporary themes. Her analogue acrylic paintings strike a balance between coarse and fine brushstrokes, whilst her digital paintings present surrealist social criticism in a ‘beautiful’ package. Digital works are also sold as art prints in limited editions.

Art and literature have always been closely linked for her. Texts – whether standing alone or accompanying her work – are an integral part of her practice as an artist. For the past two years, texts and independent publications have become an increasingly significant part of her body of work.
