‘Elsewhere’ can be anywhere: a realm in between, an inner struggle.
Is it a conflict that repeatedly disturbs one’s inner peace? Is it a fear one has not yet overcome? Is it a shadow from the past that dictates one’s life?
For me, ‘Elsewhere’ was also a place like Narnia, or a place like Phantásien!
In this case, ‘Elsewhere’ is a place where good battles evil, shadow against light!
Evil is spreading on the horizon; the foreground and middle ground are dominated by rich colours, though these give way to a colour palette that is naturalistic or close to nature. The mood shifts slightly, for even in the seemingly rich realm of good, the shadows glow red. The story is not yet finished! Alongside the dark clouds, the sky is simultaneously clearing.
Verena Fuchs
Colours have always been my inspiration and driving force, enabling me to gradually create worlds out of splashes of colour and pictorial spaces.
In doing so, I have always remained true to my own style, particularly in terms of spontaneity and intuition.
A painting gains its tension when it springs directly from one’s own personal artistic language and is then expressed in colour. Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes playful, sometimes serious.
Naturally, I also accept commissions, provided I am allowed to remain true to my style! (However, I can only work on these during the school holidays!)
