Der Titan Atlas stützt nach der griechischen Mythologie das Himmelsgewölbe und trägt somit die Last der Welt auf seinen Schultern. Das Werk bezieht sich einerseits auf die Welt, die in diesem Fall jedoch von einem Manta-Rochen anstelle einer Menschenfigur getragen wird, und andererseits auf das Leben, welches der Rochen damit ebenfalls auf seinen Schultern trägt. Das Bild zeigt den Rochen mitten in der Bewegeung, verschwommene Lichter einer dunklen Stadt lassen sich auf seinem Rücken erkennen.
Es zeigt den Moment, in dem das Tier die Wolkendecke durchbricht, die dystopischen Reste der Welt auf seinen Schultern.
Es handelt sich um eine digitale Malerei, gedruckt auf eine hochwertige Leinwand. Die Auflage des Drucks ist auf insgesamt nur 2 Werke begrenzt und jeder Druck kommt mit einem Echtheitszertifikat. (Das Werk wird ohne Rahmen geliefert)
Michelle Mall
Michelle Mall was born on 11 July 1997 in Stuttgart. She completed a teacher training degree in biology and art at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim. She now works full-time as a teacher of this subject combination.
Her artistic work focuses on the study of nature, form and colour, as well as various contemporary themes. Her analogue acrylic paintings strike a balance between coarse and fine brushstrokes, whilst her digital paintings present surrealist social criticism in a ‘beautiful’ package. Digital works are also sold as art prints in limited editions.
Art and literature have always been closely linked for her. Texts – whether standing alone or accompanying her work – are an integral part of her practice as an artist. For the past two years, texts and independent publications have become an increasingly significant part of her body of work.
