Leutrim Morina
Leutrim Morina is studying art at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart
Morina is originally from Kosovo and has been living in Stuttgart since 2018. His artistic journey has been shaped by personal experiences, challenges and a deep desire to express himself through art. After arriving in Germany, Morina initially worked in the construction industry to learn German and earn a living. In 2002, he began studying at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. This decision was not an easy one, as Morina had already studied art in Kosovo but had been forced to put his artistic career on hold due to financial circumstances. However, the need to realise his identity through art never left Morina. Central themes in his works are self-confidence, freedom of expression and hope. His works explore the boundaries of what is considered normal or acceptable. For example, they depict naked or semi-naked bodies in moments of liberation and pleasure, unconcerned by the judgements of others. They are Morina’s response to the restrictions imposed on him in the past by the constraints of the education system. His art is a reflection of his newly found freedom and a passion that has never faded, despite all the challenges.
