Medium/Technique: Oil on wood Year
created: 2022
The painting depicts a construction site scene. The paint is applied in a thick, impasto style, reflecting the torn-up earth both in its depiction and in the textural quality of the painting’s surface.
The “Bau” series comprises four works on wood (Bau I–IV) and was painted before the artist witnessed the scenes at large construction sites.
Frame dimensions: 17.3 x 30 x 2.5 cm. Sold framed.
Andrew Friedrich
Since 2020, he has been studying Fine Art at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Andreas Orosz’s painting class.
Andrew’s artistic aim is to wrest a tangible form from the omnipresent, seemingly unapproachable and immortal virtual space. He translates digital themes and motifs onto canvas using analogue media such as oil, acrylic and spray paint. In this process, the tactile complexity of the paint application plays an important role, contrasting with the absolutely smooth appearance of the motif.
