The ‘Silk – New Year’s Painting’ series
The work is based on one of the artist’s favourite paintings from the Song Dynasty – ‘New Year’s Painting’. By incorporating modern, popular floral elements and preserving them in resin, this traditional motif is reinterpreted. This brings to light the transformation and the divide between modernity and tradition.
