Felicitas Pollmann
The defining characteristic underlying my works is layering, or the superimposition of many individual layers. This concept calls for a multi-stage, self-reflective creative process. My works result in an interplay of construction and destruction, which leads to diverse, pronounced areas of tension and ultimately manifests itself in finished paintings. All works operate at the intersection of ‘traditional’ painting, printmaking, drawing and spray paint, and represent an attempt to explore the medium of painting in its ‘post-medium state’.
