Info: Das Bild ist das zweite meiner Serie „embodied Voices“, in welcher ich mich mit der bildlichen Übersetzung von Rhythmus und Musik widme.
Das Werk entstand im Dezember 2023 bei einer Live Painting Performance in Köln, wo die Sängerin Martha Potempa, der Musikproduzent Thomas C. Brueck, die Seilakrobatin Ivana Duzanee und ich gemeinsam eine improvisierte Fusion der Künste bildeten.
Das Werk wurde im Anschluss der Performance vollendet.
Marie Hesse
Delicate, light, stormy and dark colours coexist and converge in Marie Hesse’s works to
form an energy of expression. Through her painting, the artist creates an expression of connection
with the feminine and the cyclical, the rhythmic and the physical, and with the inner and
outer worlds. The rhythm of her inner world is conveyed through spontaneous painterly gestures of her body.
As well as painting in her studio, the artist paints live to music as part of a performance.

Marie Hesse completed her Bachelor’s degree in Art, Education and Therapy at Alanus University in the winter semester of 2024, specialising in painting. She attended the painting classes of Jim Harris, Dominik Halmer and Beatricé Chron.
