Info: The work ‘Embodied Voices IV’ is part of my series ‘Embodied Voices’, which explores the direct translation of music into brushwork. Over a period of three months, from March to June this year, I repeatedly engaged in the process of understanding the canvas as a direct reflection of my physical movement and of expressing a sense of the body through the influence of a wide variety of music.
This work is on display at the SKM Gallery in Leipzig until 30 October 2024, so it will only be dispatched after that date (in exceptional cases, and by arrangement, the work may also be dispatched earlier).
Marie Hesse
Delicate, light, stormy and dark colours coexist and converge in Marie Hesse’s works to
form an energy of expression. Through her painting, the artist creates an expression of connection
with the feminine and the cyclical, the rhythmic and the physical, and with the inner and
outer worlds. The rhythm of her inner world is conveyed through spontaneous painterly gestures of her body.
As well as painting in her studio, the artist paints live to music as part of a performance.
