“Even as a child, I knew for certain that I wanted to paint. Art and creative work have been a part of my life from a very young age. This eventually led me to study in Dresden.

In my work, I explore themes that I encounter in my daily life and which occupy my thoughts. On the one hand, this can be the sheer joy of realistically depicting a landscape I’ve seen, a city I’ve visited or people I’ve observed. On the other hand, I also engage with impressions I gain from literature, the media or conversations. Finally, I must mention the joy of ‘creating’ that I feel when experimenting with techniques, modes of representation and the inner struggle surrounding the work as it takes shape.

The most wonderful feeling, however, is when my work brings joy not only to myself but also to other people.”
