Leonard Neff
As part of his training as a graphic designer, he learnt academic drawing from the artist Peter Hehner, who was a master student of Gerhard Richter.
Boundaries and counter-intuitive representation are central means of expression in his representational painting, which is underpinned by an exploratory, contemplative gaze upon the seemingly mundane.
He draws on gestures and details from various influences, such as Pop Art and the traditional technique of woodcut, and reinterprets them.
