Ricarda Lake
Ricarda Lake was born in 1997 and grew up in Cloppenburg, northern Germany. Even whilst at school, she was involved in theatre and pursued this passion after completing her A-levels. She initially studied theatre and religious studies in Bochum, then in Berlin, working in numerous roles both on and off stage. From working as an assistant director at the Hamburg Schauspielhaus to coordinating production at the Berliner Ensemble, she got to know the stage – the stage that means the world – before turning her attention to the visual arts and commencing her studies in Fine Art at the HBK Braunschweig in autumn 2023. However, she brought her love of theatre with her into the world of painting.
Most recently, her works were on display in the exhibition “49+1 – Young Art in the Oldenburg Münsterland” at the Kunstverein Cloppenburg, as well as in the exhibition “Who let the dogs out” in Oldenburg. In addition, individual works will be presented at the HBK’s summer tour in the exhibition “Is Painting Sexy – or the Scrubbing Around It”.
