This painting is an expression of my deep passion for Spain: a country that never ceases to inspire me with its warmth, its light and its relaxed way of life. The scene depicts a moment of tranquillity, lightness and heat, captured during a journey I undertook myself, driving south.
The woman in the foreground sits relaxed in the warm light of a Spanish summer’s day, whilst in the background stands a car – a symbol of the journey, of arrival, of being on the move. The colours have been deliberately chosen to be intense and sun-drenched, to capture the atmosphere of southern heat and serenity.
The work is painted in oil on canvas. The edge is fully painted, creating a three-dimensional effect that brings the picture to life in the room. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and is therefore a signed original.
This painting invites you to sit back, feel the heat and bring a touch of the Mediterranean way of life into your everyday routine.
The painting is dispatched with a certificate of authenticity and a personal letter.
Vanessa Marscholek
Her painting is characterised by a sensitive handling of oil as a medium, through which intimacy and presence unfold simultaneously. Figures emerge and assert themselves within the pictorial space without being clearly defined. They remain in motion, open to interpretation. This creates a tension between visibility and inner experience, inviting viewers to reflect on their own notions of freedom and identity.
Vanessa Marscholek has been studying Art Therapy (BA) at the Medical School Hamburg, Campus Arts and Social Change, since 2023 and is currently in her sixth semester.
From late 2023 to early 2026, she volunteered at the Habibi Atelier in Hamburg, where she was involved in the conception and organisation of exhibitions for charitable purposes. In this role, she collaborated with over 40 Hamburg-based artists and supported, amongst others, the Sternenbrücke children’s hospice (2024) and the Löwenhaus children’s and youth centre (2025).
She lives and studies in Hamburg.
