“Hamsho Licht_Sonnenallee” depicts a shop window full of light fixtures, reflections and ornamental forms along Sonnenallee. The lamps almost appear like small stage sets set against the darkness of the street.
The painting emerged from repeatedly driving past and observing the shop windows at night. In particular, the artificial light of the street began to make an ever-stronger impression on my perception. As a result, many of these places took on a quality that was at once ordinary and surreal.
What interests me about the shop windows is not only their visual presence, but also the sense of distance created by the glass. You look in, yet at the same time remain outside the space.
The work was painted on a piece of fabric from the Sonnenallee area – to be precise, on the curtains of my Turkish neighbours.

The work will be shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and a signature on the reverse.

Painting
Her painting springs from spontaneous emotion, offering scope for experimentation and the pure joy of creative expression. Whilst academic art education often tends to suppress or conceptualise this authenticity, she carefully preserves it in her painting.
Her creative space allows her to transcend boundaries and make room for the unexpected, resulting in series in which she captures friends and colleagues in various depictions. During the Covid-19 crisis, she also portrayed her neighbourhood, ranging from unaffordable flats to the socially deprived area of Kottbusser Tor.
Her art extends beyond realistic scenes to include depictions of dreams on a surreal level, forming a creative bridge to her sculptural works.

sculptures are an expression of her artistic vision, which focuses on viewing the human being as an architectural structure. Inspired by her childhood fascination with her ancestors’ doll’s house, every room in this metaphorical house symbolises a unique facet of human character. She sees this complex doll’s house within every individual, representing the multi-layered nature of emotions and experiences. Her art explores the significance of self-awareness and delves into the unconscious microcosm that encompasses dreams and the vast world of the subconscious. Through her sculptures, Augart seeks to play with these elements from dreams and to build a bridge between dream and reality.
