Acrylic on canvas painting ‘Holding Space’
Size: 100 x 120 cm (approx. 104 x 124 cm including frame)
The painting is part of the ‘Girl in a Suit’ series. In this series, I explore the image of women and examine inner balance, self-confidence and self-image, with each painting having its own focus.
There are people with whom we can simply be ourselves. Without expectations. Without having to explain ourselves. For me, that is precisely what ‘Holding Space’ means: being there for one another without having to change or resolve anything.
“The painting is supplied with a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature, including the frame.”
Julia Von Solemacher
In her paintings, she combines clear forms, minimalist facial features and vibrant colours. Her figures appear calm and self-assured, embodying a balance between elegance and inner strength. The deliberate simplification of facial features creates scope for interpretation, allowing viewers to project their own emotions and thoughts onto the figures.
Julia von Solemacher’s desire to become an artist emerged at an early age. After working in fields outside the arts, she decided to pursue this path with determination and eventually devoted herself entirely to painting.
Julia von Solemacher studied art education at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and fine art painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor.
