Viktoria Ovsepian’s work *Home* (2025), an oil on canvas (30 × 40 × 3 cm), unfolds a visual world steeped in nostalgia. At the centre are slippers – everyday objects that here become a symbol of security, childhood and the quiet experience of being alone.
The dark shades of blue and black bathe the scene in an atmosphere somewhere between dream and memory. The slippers appear abandoned yet familiar, as if they were silent witnesses to moments gone by. The background, full of rhythmic structures and painterly movement, reinforces the sense of waiting and the inner images that arise when a child is home alone.
Shipping:
The artwork will be shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature on the reverse.
Viktoria Ovsepian
Viktoria Ovsepian has received several scholarships and awards, including a residency at the Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem (MKE) in Budapest (2021–2022), the EU4ART programme for artistic research (2022–2023) and the YETI Dresden Young Talent Award for Education and Technology (2025).
Artist Statement:
In her artistic practice, she explores the tension between reality and surreality. Drawing on memories, she develops works centred on their emotional core. She translates inner states – the invisible realm between seeing and feeling – into a visual language that is both subjective and universally accessible. Her works allow the viewer to experience how memories live on in the consciousness not only as images, but above all as feelings.
She has
presented her work in solo exhibitions, including at Kunstraum GEH8, Dresden (DESIRABLE TIMES, 2020), at the Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem, Budapest (NATURAL PROCESSES, 2021), at Galerie Mojavari, Berlin (O.T., 2022), at the Kunstgeheuse Gallery (momenta, 2023), at the Historical Collections in Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel (Zwischen Mit und Dir, 2023), at Spring Art Berlin (Garten, 2024) and at the 4h-art Artists’ Gallery in Hanover (Angst und Wut, 2025).
Her works have also been featured in numerous group exhibitions and auctions, including ‘Jahresgaben 2025/2026’, Kunstverein Mannheim / Ludwigshafen (opening: Friday, 5 December 2025, 7 pm), and the auction in aid of UNICEF (11 October–14 November 2025), Site Specific, Margit körút 25, Budapest (2022), Abgefahren, Verkehrsmuseum Dresden (2018), annual exhibitions and interventions at the HfBK Dresden (2018), *Über das Jucken*, Alte Feuerwache Loschwitz (2019), *BOARDING SPACES*, Labortheater Dresden – performance (2020), as well as at auctions and exhibitions organised by Sparkasse Dresden (2020, 2024), as part of NEUBAU – Zeitgemäßer Kunst Dresden (2021) and at the INDA Galeria, Budapest (2021). Her diploma and final-year exhibitions at the HfBK Dresden, as well as the Winter Salon of the Kunstverein Meißen (2023), round off her exhibition experience.
