Das Werk strahlt in lebhaften Farben, die von warmen Orangetönen bis zu leuchtendem Grün reichen, und vermittelt auf den ersten Blick eine spielerische, fast surreale Atmosphäre. Doch bei näherer Betrachtung offenbart es eine tiefere emotionale Schicht – die Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Erinnerung, zwischen Kontakten, die durch dieses Medium dem Telefon entstehen. Jedes Telefonat trägt eine eigene Energie: die Routine des Alltags, die emotionale Tiefe eines Gesprächs mit geliebten Menschen oder die Distanz, die entsteht, wenn diese Stimmen verstummen. Der Betrachter fühlt sich eingeladen, in diesen Raum einzutreten und eigene Erfahrungen mit der Kommunikation und der damit verbundenen Sehnsucht zu reflektieren.

Im Kern ist dieses Werk eine Hommage an die Gespräche, die nicht mehr stattfinden können, und an die Menschen, die nicht mehr da sind. Es fängt die bittersüße Dualität des Telefons ein: ein Werkzeug, das verbindet, aber auch an die Unmöglichkeit erinnert, gewisse Verbindungen wiederherzustellen. Die lebendigen Farben suggerieren, dass diese Erinnerungen trotz allem leuchten und in unserer Vorstellung weiterleben, während der leere Hörer die stille Sehnsucht nach vergangenen Momenten betont.


The work radiates vibrant colors, ranging from warm orange tones to bright greens, and at first glance, conveys a playful, almost surreal atmosphere. Yet, upon closer inspection, it reveals a deeper emotional layer – the relationship between humans and memory, between the connections created through this medium, the telephone. Each call carries its own energy: the routine of daily life, the emotional depth of conversations with loved ones, or the distance that emerges when those voices fall silent. The viewer is invited to step into this space and reflect on their own experiences with communication and the longing that often accompanies it.

At its core, this piece is a homage to conversations that can no longer take place and to those who are no longer here. It captures the bittersweet duality of the telephone: a tool that connects, but also a reminder of the impossibility of restoring certain connections. The vibrant colors suggest that these memories continue to shine and live on in our minds, while the empty receiver emphasizes the quiet longing for moments that have passed.

For as long as I can remember, art has been a part of me, like a second heartbeat.

From a young age, I sensed that this was where I truly belonged, long before I understood what that meant. The path towards it was not always easy, yet one thing became clear to me early on: not working, not painting, feels like a quiet disappearance. Art is not a choice in my life, but a necessity.


My work emerges from both memory and the present at the same time.

Family images, fragments of everyday life, traces of consumption, fleeting gestures – I gather what remains. On the canvas, these fragments coalesce into pictorial spaces in which time, loss and intimacy coexist.


Nostalgia is a central driving force in my practice.

Not as a sentimental look back, but as an ambivalent space: it carries pain because it makes what is lost tangible, and it slows time. Within it, the fast pace of the present softens. An inner space opens up in which time becomes almost imperceptible.


My painting moves between intimacy and public space, between personal history and collective experience. It holds on whilst letting go. It arises from the desire to preserve and from the awareness that everything is in flux.


In a world of constant acceleration, these works aim to create images that endure—

images that may be quiet or loud, yet carry their own sense of time.

Images that are not only seen, but remembered.
