Description
This painting plays on the interplay between spatiality and illusion. It depicts a 3D object appearing in a painterly space that looks as though it has not yet been constructed, yet is nevertheless already complete. Illusion plays a central role in the composition, as it consists solely of colour gradients and specific brushstrokes. The object interrupts the picture, yet at the same time completes it.
