Maria

Width 30 cm
Length/Depth 40 cm
Description

It is the story of a young woman who receives little support or encouragement from the very beginning. The school system separates her from her initial friends at an early age; she is assigned to a secondary school for pupils with lower academic ability and is forgotten.

Today

,

she has resurfaced. She has left her early acquaintances behind and now lives with her husband and a dog in a lovely neighbourhood. She is working on her bachelor’s thesis.

Maria embodies willpower, strength and gentleness. She stands for all those who are forgotten but do not give up; she gives them a face without imposing herself. A face captured in the form of a free-style watercolour portrait.

It is a watercolour painting on watercolour paper.

Dimensions: 30cm x 40cm (The painting will be sent unframed)

Michelle Mall

Biography

Michelle Mall was born on 11 July 1997 in Stuttgart. She completed a teacher training degree in biology and art at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim. She now works full-time as a teacher of this subject combination.

Her artistic work focuses on the study of nature, form and colour, as well as various contemporary themes. Her analogue acrylic paintings strike a balance between coarse and fine brushstrokes, whilst her digital paintings present surrealist social criticism in a ‘beautiful’ package. Digital works are also sold as art prints in limited editions.

Art and literature have always been closely linked for her. Texts – whether standing alone or accompanying her work – are an integral part of her practice as an artist. For the past two years, texts and independent publications have become an increasingly significant part of her body of work.
