Background :

"Melting Couple" was created during a few hot summer days in August and served as a means of ‘painting away’ worries. The work thrives on the tension between bold shades of blue and red, which converge in wild, overlapping brushstrokes. The dynamism of the brushwork emphasises the interplay between the figures’ proximity and distance.

Bruni Bonadeo

A blank canvas is a real challenge. I feel daunted by it every time. For my works, I sometimes start with a background of layers of paint; sometimes I begin with sketches, which I later paint over. Adding and removing elements influence my entire painting process. The outcome remains open for a long time.
