Last year, I began to interpret my works based on structures applied to the canvas at random.
In this piece, the greenish colour palette reminded me of a woodland landscape, whilst I found the blue-and-white colour contrast
particularly energetic.

The work will be shipped stretched onto a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature on the reverse.
Janek Wisse
I find it fascinating to observe how one idea springs from the previous one, and I have since been working to create a breeding ground from which the new ideas of the future can sprout.
Even as a child, I became aware of the limits of my own perception. This gave rise to a fundamental need to get to know the world anew, time and again. This interest led me through a wide variety of disciplines: I studied philosophy, physics and computer science, completed an apprenticeship as a tailor, worked in theatre, and am now involved in educational support for people with disabilities.
I discovered painting relatively late, at the age of 28; yet even before I bought my first paintbrush, I recognised it as a logical consequence of my life up to that point and resolved to devote the rest of my life to it.
