Structure, content and the freedom of the imagination I prefer to use collage, combining different levels of saturation and colour nuances to make space visible. For me, painting means constructing structures, filling them with content and engaging in a continuous creative process. I use lines to break up large areas of colour and seek that one, captured moment in the tension between balance and imbalance.
It is precisely the simplicity of these colour fields and the reduction of colour that open up a vast space for the viewer’s own imagination. When the canvas is no longer overloaded with representational details, it transforms into an ‘open vessel’. These visual voids are like half-open doors, inviting the viewer to step inside with their own memories and emotions. As the picture does not dictate a definitive answer, it becomes an individual reflection of time, space and emotion for each person.
