Yulia Katan

Yulia Katan, an artist and stage designer based in Berlin, combines observations of everyday spaces and nature with surreal narratives, transforming memories of domestic objects, interiors and landscapes into drawings, paintings and sculptures. Working with traditional materials, she explores how material memory and physical perception shape the poetics of the ordinary.

Yulia completed her degree in Fine Art and Design at the Grekov College of Art in Odessa in 2018, where she specialised in academic drawing, painting and plein air painting. Since then, she has continued her training by participating in independent studios and artistic research programmes.
