Meine Arbeit im "Opus Geminum" (Zwillingswerk) ist eine Auseinandersetzung mit der Dualität und der gestischen Kraft des Papiers. Ich sehe diese gepaarten Collagen gerne als einen notwendigen Dialog.
Der Prozess beginnt damit, dass ich das Papier auf beiden Seiten bemale. Dies ist entscheidend, da das Material später zerlegt wird und ich so Tiefe und eine Überraschung in der Struktur erhalte. Ich reiße, fragmentiere und forme das bemalte Papier mit einer entschlossenen, gestischen Bewegung. Die rohen Kanten und die geschichteten, geformten Partien, die ich dann neu auf die Bildfläche lege, sind ein ehrlicher Ausdruck dieser Geste.
Jede Arbeit (53x43 cm) korrespondiert mit ihrem Gegenstück. Die Formen, die Farbakzente und die Bewegungsrichtung sind aufeinander abgestimmt oder stehen in bewusstem Kontrast. Es geht darum, eine Spannung zu erzeugen, die das Auge zwischen den beiden Bildern hin- und herführt und die Komplexität des Materials – bemalt, gerissen, geformt – sichtbar macht. Die Arbeiten sind ein offenes Zeugnis des Prozesses und der Beziehung, die ich mit dem Papier als skulpturalem und malerischem Element eingehe.

. My work arises from a direct, physical engagement with the material. The gesture is central – impulsive, powerful, often spontaneous. Traces such as scratches, colour gradients, overlays and raw edges are deliberately left visible and form an integral part of the picture. The painting process is open-ended, process-oriented and follows no fixed plan. Decisions are made in the moment of movement. In the process, spaces emerge on the canvas or paper that have little to do with classical three-dimensionality. They are mental spaces between eruption and contemplation, between concentration and spontaneity. For me, imperfection is an essential part of the process – it embodies the truth of the process.
My painting
has now moved beyond the two-dimensional plane. I am increasingly working with objects and forms in space. In doing so, I apply painterly principles to other materials – colour becomes physical, movement becomes volume. This gives rise to sculptural works in which gesture, materiality and space come together in new ways.
