Info:
In 2039, multi-billionaire Elon Musk won the race to Mars against his rival Jeff Bezos. His company, SpaceX, safely landed the first human on the surface of Mars. Jeff Bezos, however, did not admit defeat. He realised that he could only win the battle for Mars’ resources in the long term. To outmanoeuvre his rival, he focused all his resources on research into longevity. In 2312, long after Elon Musk had died, he founded the first long-term colony on Mars with Blue Origin. The colony’s main building took the form of a helix, similar to Amazon’s second headquarters, which constantly reminded Jeff Bezos of the time he was elected the first president of the world government. Over time, further buildings were added. Consequently, it made sense to span a large dome over the emerging city. People were now able to move freely on Mars and saw a significant improvement in their quality of life. Outside the dome, the first results of the terraforming process are now becoming apparent. Mars has developed a dense CO₂ atmosphere.
The first work from each edition was exhibited, in combination with “Origin Helix I”. They formed part of the Results Exhibition 2022, as well as a module final assessment. The works were presented in white-glazed frames (40 x 50 cm) by Max Aab, with doré paper as the passe-partout. It has become apparent that dark frames are also well suited and, thanks to the higher contrast, offer a fresh perspective on the image.
