Description
Acrylic on canvas. The tobacco, the papers and the filters are also painted with acrylic paint. The adhesive strip holding these three parts together was stuck onto the artwork.

Sarah Maria Kuhn
My name is Sarah and I am studying at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) in Mark Lammert’s class. I will complete my Master’s degree in the summer of 2026 and then undertake the Master’s year at the UdK. My artistic work focuses primarily on painting. In my paintings, I seek to explore the tension between narrative and openness, between figuration and abstraction. Central to this are interpersonal relationships, physical movements and emotional states – transformed into a visual language of colour, form and brushstrokes. I am not solely concerned with unambiguous statements, but rather with atmospheres that leave room for interpretation and make the unspoken visible.
