The allure of the sea, with its vastness, beauty and unpredictability, makes me dream. Hours spent gazing and revelling in the view, then listening intently once more with my eyes closed. All my senses tell me this is home.
This painting, inspired by Tuke – the third in a series on the theme of ‘Boy by the Sea’ – evokes a sense of calm and, at the same time, longing within me.
