This hand-painted watercolour was created in 2024 using high-quality Schminke watercolours on cold-pressed, acid-free watercolour paper. The painting measures 14 x 20 cm.
It is a one-off piece, and I painted it on location in Den Osse (NL). I always take my sketchbook with me so I can paint en plein air. The sunsets over the North Sea are legendary. If you’d like to retain that sketchbook feel, you can leave the painting as it is with the ring holes. Otherwise, it can of course be framed without them. It’s purely a matter of taste. Personally, I quite like the sketchbook feel; it conveys a little of the spontaneity of this small painting.

This quote is by Paul Klee.
The beauty of it, for me at least, is that art is more than a mere representation of reality.
It has the power to make things visible that were previously unnoticed or lay hidden
I am constantly experimenting and enjoy working with different techniques and motifs. My works are created in oil, acrylic and watercolour, often built up in many layers, so that depth, luminosity and vibrant transitions emerge. In doing so, I deliberately experiment with various styles – from abstract landscapes to colour-rich, free compositions. I find inspiration, amongst other things, whilst travelling, in nature and in special moments of everyday life.
My paintings are one-of-a-kind pieces, both timeless and modern. They are aimed at art lovers, collectors and anyone who wishes to enhance their home or office with a special, colourful touch.
