Painting has been a part of my life for quite some time now. Whilst I was living in Munich, working as an IT specialist, I discovered canvases and brushes for myself in a small architecture shop just round the corner. As well as experimenting with acrylic paints, I was also able to pursue my second passion, photography, and took several photography courses with Bruno Weiss in Munich (black-and-white photography and development, as well as colour photography and the development of colour film). An absolute highlight was a black-and-white photography course with a very small group of participants at Bruno Weiss’s photography studio.

In 2020, I completed a course in art and creative therapy at the Paracelsus School of Natural Medicine in Rosenheim and quickly realised that my thirst for knowledge about painting, techniques, colour theory and so on had only just been truly awakened. Enrolling on the first experimental degree programme at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor, taught by lecturers Ingrid Floss, Andrea Rozorea, Max Wagner, Uli Zwerenz, Stefan Bachmann and Thomas Lange was merely a formality, and so, full of excitement and joy, I threw myself into my first academic year, 2020/2021, which I successfully completed. As a student on the ‘Foundation Course in Painting’ with Heribert Heindl, Helmut Geier and Nina Kohmann at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor, I successfully completed four years of study with great enthusiasm. As well as learning and experimenting with a wide variety of techniques, I also enjoy painting intuitively, without knowing in advance what the result will be. This style of painting was also part of my training in art and creative therapy, and it sets me free. It’s a great feeling to see what has emerged at the end, and then to take my time finding the right moment to finish the piece. Towards the end of my second year of study, I discovered linocut for myself. In my third and fourth years, alongside my daily work, I tried my hand at various creative projects, such as abstract acrylic painting, linocut on different media, and mixed media.

From 2026, I will be studying drawing and painting under the supervision of Prof. Dr. h. c. Markus Lüpertz at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor. Other lecturers on the course include: Reinhold Braun, Friedrich Dickgießer, Leander Kresse and Arnim Tölke.
