PROCESS AND CONCEPT
My work centres on personal longings. I frequently work with found footage – that is, images from various sources as well as my own photographs, which evoke a feeling within me that is difficult to pin down. These include screenshots from films and music videos, historical imagery, and depictions of intimacy and togetherness, which I collect both digitally and in analogue form.
For me, these motifs often depict places, people or states that are temporarily or actually out of reach. Through painting, I try to draw closer to them. At the same time, the process of painting serves to capture fleeting emotional reactions and translate them into a visual form.
I am self-taught and, from an early age, drew and painted intensively alongside my father – a practice that has stayed with me to this day.
I have not yet had any institutional exhibitions, but I have already sold several works. I am currently working on a new series, which is set to culminate in an upcoming exhibition.
