Time To Let Go – a scene from the intermission.
A brief pause, a moment of reverie. The situation depicted seems ordinary and familiar, and yet it remains enigmatic. The crossword puzzle is not merely a pastime, but becomes a symbol of an inner process of searching. Organising one’s thoughts, piecing together memories, but also attempting to find meaning amidst ambiguity. The woman appears to be lingering in a state of pause, between decision and reflection, between the past and the future.
Inscribed within the grid are the words ‘Time To Let Go’, at first fragmentary, almost concealed, and precisely because of this, particularly striking. Is this a conscious closure, the coming to terms with a loss, or an inner struggle with something that cannot yet be let go of?

I used to draw a lot when I was younger. At the age of 16, I began drawing portraits of other people. During my A-levels in Art, I learnt a number of techniques and really enjoyed working with different media, which is why I decided to study Art and Media. Whilst at university, I also started painting more in my spare time and discovered a passion for oil painting. At the moment, I’m exploring Surrealism in depth. Inspired by Edward Hopper and René Magritte, I’ve found a style that suits me. With my series *Strangers*, I’m trying to combine the unfamiliar with something familiar.
