Description

“The bards and their myths are the eyes and ears of a people who make their memory the foundation of their identity and know that they exist through remembrance.”

(Io, Agamennone – Giulio Guidorizzi, 2024)

In Venus , I take up the classical myth of the goddess in order to reinterpret it. I am interested in the moment when form dissolves and is reborn. Between figuration and abstraction, I seek a space in which the mythical and the human merge.

My Venus is not a likeness, but an allegory of the unfinished: she depicts beauty as a state of transition, as movement between light and shadow. Thus, for me, Venus becomes a dialogue with history – and a meditation on what remains when the visible fades away.

Livia Organista Sandino

I am interested in studying the classics and creating imaginative and colourful narratives from a timeless perspective. I explore the dynamics of light, space and the movement of human and animal figures. Through my painting – full of symbolism and a dreamlike quality – I aim to create a concept that I refer to as the emergence of modern myths.

I am in my final year of the Fine Art degree programme at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid and have completed an Erasmus placement at the Essen Academy of Fine Arts (HBK). There, I exhibited my work at Millia’s Coffee, the Neuer Kunstverein Wuppertal, Galerie Obrist and the Philharmonie Essen. In Spain, I took part in group exhibitions in Valdemoro, Torrejón de Ardóz and Gijón. I would like to continue my studies in Germany.

I have illustrated stories for the magazine *Revista de Valdemoro* and am also a member of the Research Group for Visual Studies and Digital Museography at the URJC’s INTERVISUALAB laboratory, where I focus on the grisaille technique and 15th-century Flemish painting (particularly Jan van Eyck) as well as illustrated books of hours.

In my spare time, I attend the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where I draw from life and am learning a great deal. Portraiture has become one of my main interests, and I aim to specialise in this field.
