This artwork is inspired by the idea of transformation. I am fascinated by how everything in the universe changes and how one thing can be transformed into another. This work was created with this thought and this idea in mind.
It is unique because it combines not only the concepts of history and time, but also physical elements. A key material is vinyl records, which once contained music and were played.
In my artistic process, I transform the original round shape of the vinyl records into triangles and use them to create my own composition on the canvas. Geometric shapes play a major role in my art – I use them time and again. For me, the triangle symbolises an aspiration upwards, towards the cosmos, but also a return.
The vinyl records, which were originally round, are reshaped into triangles and ultimately arranged on a rectangular canvas. This combination of different shapes creates a work of art which – like the universe itself – unites both visible and invisible planes.
