Auf den Siebentischwald in Augsburg ist immer Verlass: Er räumt meinen Kopf auf und zeigt mir kleine verborgene Details. So erinnert er mich daran, dass ich Teil von etwas Größerem bin.

Oft nehme ich direkt mein Skizzenbuch mit und halte meine Eindrücke fest. Daraus ist dieses Ölbild entstanden.

Es war gegen Abend und die Sonne stand schon tief. Plötzlich traten die sonst verborgenen Winkel in den Vorderund, während der große Rest sich bereits ins Dunkel zurückzog.

Die kleinen Pilze und Pflanzen, die sich am Baumstumpf festhalten, treten deswegen in kräftigen Farben hervor und werden zum Highlight des Bildes.

Auf der Rückseite ist die Leinwand signiert.

Alex Blon

As an artist and art teacher, I explore the body and the elusive, surreal boundary between ourselves and the outside world.

Starting with the human body, my understanding of the body has expanded to include living, growing forms in nature. There, spaces are constantly being created anew, filled, expanded or transformed. I create visual worlds that often focus on the surface and its textures. I enjoy delving into the details of these textures.

My materials are mainly oil paints and oil pastels, but I also use ink and graphite in my printmaking.
