Oil and oil pastels on canvas
50x40cm
Year of creation: 2025
You can always rely on the Siebentischwald in Augsburg: it clears my head and reveals small, hidden details to me. In this way, it reminds me that I am part of something bigger.
I often take my sketchbook with me straight away to capture my impressions. This oil painting emerged from those sketches.
It was towards evening and the sun was already low in the sky. Suddenly, the otherwise hidden corners came to the fore, whilst the rest of the scene was already receding into darkness.
The little mushrooms and plants clinging to the tree stump therefore stand out in vivid colours and become the highlight of the painting.
The canvas is signed on the reverse.
Alex Blon
Starting with the human body, my understanding of the body has expanded to include living, growing forms in nature. There, spaces are constantly being created anew, filled, expanded or transformed. I create visual worlds that often focus on the surface and its textures. I enjoy delving into the details of these textures.
My materials are mainly oil paints and oil pastels, but I also use ink and graphite in my printmaking.
