Die Bilder dieser Reihe bringen die Arbeit am Buch 'Was ist die Frage?' auf die Leinwand und verbinden das Buch, von dem immer wieder Versionen entstehen, mit bekannten Portraits der Kunstgeschichte.
Beim hier zitierten Portrait handelt es sich um das Portrait "Das Mädchen mit dem Perlenohrring" von Jan Vermeer.
Neben den direkten Verweisen aufs Schreiben (Text mit Pinsel und Acrylstiften auf der Leinwand) wurden ausgedruckte Fotos und Bilder aus dem digitalen Was-ist-die-Frage-Archiv auf die Leinwand collagiert - und teilweise wieder übermalt. Somit integriert sich in diesen Bildern das Digitale (Internet-Archive) mit dem Analogen (Malerei auf Leinwand). Das, was selbst keinen Raum einnimmt (Text und digitale Fotos) und deshalb überall verfügbar ist, wird hier auf einer Leinwand konkret im Raum (auf dem Unikat) fixiert.
