Janna Schnoor
Janna Schnoor’s artistic interest lies in the precise and sensitive observation of her surroundings. Direct experience of the landscape is essential to her creative process. Her focus is on the coastal region of Schleswig-Holstein with its wide beaches, steep cliffs and small woods. Through the act of painting, she develops an intense connection with these places, gently exploring and understanding them. Her landscape paintings reflect the artist’s friendly familiarity with her surroundings. The landscape is not captured in a documentary style, but explored in terms of its atmospheric effect. Light plays a central role in this. The paintings glow from within, thereby conveying the transience and fragility of the moments captured.Â
