"Casually after skiing", 100x100x4cm, oil on canvas, 2026.
Lunch break – a scene from the break. A brief pause after skiing in the heart of the Alps and, at the same time, an exercise of free will.
In my series “casually skiing”, I explore the moment of coming together. Moments when mobile phones are put aside and an exchange takes place between people. The starting point is everyday situations, particularly hobbies such as going for a swim, yoga on the beach or a tennis match. I combine these moments with a surrealist interpretation, featuring men in suits. Among other things, the works question the world of work as a system that remains patriarchal and forces people into fixed roles. For me, the focus is on the idea of free will, and also the possibility of breaking out of familiar patterns. So why not do some yoga on the beach during your lunch break for mental balance, or perhaps play a tennis match to stay fit?

I used to draw a lot when I was younger. At the age of 16, I began drawing portraits of other people. During my A-levels in Art, I learnt a number of techniques and really enjoyed working with different media, which is why I decided to study Art and Media. Whilst at university, I also started painting more in my spare time and discovered a passion for oil painting. At the moment, I’m exploring Surrealism in depth. Inspired by Edward Hopper and René Magritte, I’ve found a style that suits me. With my series *Strangers*, I’m trying to combine the unfamiliar with something familiar.
