“The paintings are oil on canvas; the plant-like objects are made of papier-mâché and painted with acrylics.
In the works relating to the bathroom, I have explored sensuality on the one hand, and gender roles, etc., on the other.
The more colourful, installation-based works also deal in part with challenging or questioning sexist clichés and the like, and in particular with playing with ornamentation, spatiality and the breaking away from it.

Furthermore, they represent an opportunity for me to bring the world that manifests itself (first in my mind, and later) in my painting into ‘reality’. In a sense, it is a play on realism, reality, and painted or decorated space and objects.”
