In my art, I explore the themes of memory, identity and femininity, or rather feminism. I am interested in how personal experiences, cultural influences and family narratives live on, overlap and transform within contemporary visual worlds.

My artistic practice is cross-media in nature and encompasses painting, videography and tufting. I deliberately combine these media, resulting in hybrid works and installation-based situations – for example, through the combination of tufting and painting, or through video projections that expand the pictorial space and open up an additional temporal dimension.

My Thai roots play a central role in my current work. Elements of traditional Thai dance theatre, traditional clothing and intimate visual fragments from the memories and everyday life of my Thai family serve as recurring points of reference. These do not flow into my work in a documentary manner, but rather in a poetically transformed form.

Against the backdrop of an art education predominantly shaped by Western influences, I reflect in my practice on the absence of artistic perspectives from People of Colour, particularly Southeast Asian and Thai forms of expression. As a half-Thai woman who continues to face racist stereotypes and exclusion, I also see my work as a conscious contribution to making Thai culture more visible within Western art contexts. My works thus navigate the tension between personal memory, cultural belonging and contemporary, postcolonial discourse.
