Laura Vargas

"Born in Colombia and based in Berlin, Laura Vargas is inspired by the analytical purpose of surrealism and the aesthetics of various forms of ancestral symbolism, mystery and mysticism. Dreamscapes are the result of an intuitive process that seeks and creates its own language of codices, which speak from the unconscious desires.

Laura studied at the Weissensee Academy of Art in Berlin. Unbound by any specific genre, Laura uses her drawings, as well as objects and installations, to evoke a range of emotions that shift between love and hopelessness.

Feelings of nostalgia and melancholy coexist with aspects of nature and spirituality."
