Maximilian Dussmann

Maximilian Dussmann was born in Neuburg an der Donau in 2000 and has been an art student at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts since 2021. Prior to this, he completed an apprenticeship as a graphic designer and cartoonist. From 2023, he studied in Peter Wächtler’s class and, since 2024, in Olav Westphalen’s class within the specialisation in Image and Space – Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting. In 2025, he spent a semester studying painting at the Art Academy of Latvia in Riga.

In his artistic work, he focuses on abstract painting. Flowing, distorted figures and forms evoke physicality and identity. In his minimalist texts, he addresses social realities. Both forms of expression are characterised by their direct nature and the dialogue between form and narrative.
