Die neuesten Werke meiner Serie „songs to cure depression“ sind eine Mischung aus Bleistift und Ölkreide auf Leinwand. Ich habe mit verschiedenen Techniken und Materialien experimentiert, bevor ich mich für diese Mischung entschieden habe, wobei die Ölkreide verwendet wird, um Teile des Kunstwerks dunkler und verschwommener erscheinen zu lassen, während der Bleistift für die Einfachheit und Naivität sorgt, die auch in meinen Papierzeichnungen zu finden ist. Die Werke werden mit einem glänzenden Lack veredelt, sodass sie alterungsbeständig und vor Schmutz geschützt sind. Die Holzahmen werden extra für die jeweiligen Werke von mir in meinem Studio angefertigt.
Falls gewünscht kann das Werk vorab (nach vorheriger Absprache) in Berlin-Moabit betrachtet sowie abgeholt werden.
Lukas Rosen
Lukas Rosen’s work is a constant quest for reduction, designed to draw the viewer into a dialogue with his works as directly as possible. In his drawings and paintings, areas of colour and colour gradients form the foundation for text and figurative elements; their interplay creates a tension between pathos and naivety. His works explore themes such as intimacy, solitude and encounter, and approach the complex concept of love in various ways. Through serial repetitions of pictorial composition and concept, meditative series of works emerge, the differences between which lie in the details.
Lukas Rosen attended Anke Feuchtenberger’s illustration class at HAW Hamburg. During his studies, he deepened his creative practice and engaged extensively with comics and literature in general, which has had a major influence on his work, both stylistically and narratively.
Lukas Rosen lives and works in Berlin.
