Tips for your SKM account  

Here we’ll give you lots of helpful tips on how to set up your own account in the best possible way! 





Apply at any time for our community exhibitions at the SKM Gallery in Leipzig!


An exhibition offers a great opportunity to showcase your work in an open and dynamic atmosphere.

What to expect :

For

this exhibition, we are adopting an open concept to showcase the diversity and uniqueness of our community to the fullest. The selection of works will be varied, much like in previous SKM exhibitions. The exhibition spans two floors of our gallery (ground floor and first floor). Would you like to take part and exhibit your artworks?

Here are the terms and conditions for taking part :

  1. We ask that you submit 8 artworks, at least 6 of which must be unpublished (if the artworks aren’t finished yet, that’s no problem – apply and we’ll find a tailored solution). You’re also welcome to submit up to 8 unpublished works. Please select the works carefully: we’d like you to apply with works that clearly demonstrate your personal style and reflect your artistic quality . Show us your best works – the ones you also feature on the SKM platform – to ensure a consistent and high-quality presentation of your art . How many of the 8 artworks we ultimately hang depends on their size. If not all works are hung at once, a new artwork by you can be hung immediately in the event of a sale.
  2. The commission on sold works is 40 per cent (including VAT) during the two weeks before and the two weeks after the opening, and applies to all your artworks – both those exhibited in the gallery and those displayed online on your SKM profile . Once these 14 days have elapsed, the 40 per cent commission will only be charged on the works exhibited in the gallery, should a sale take place .
  3. The basic participation fee is €238 (inclusive of VAT). If this fee is a barrier for you, please get in touch with us – together we will find a solution.
  4. If you are sending your works by post, they must arrive at the gallery no later than 14 days before the exhibition opening. All costs for shipping (delivery and collection) are your responsibility. If you are bringing the works in person, you can do so by car during the week before the opening.

  6. After the exhibition ends, the works must either be collected or you must instruct us to organise a removal company. You are responsible for all costs associated with this.

  8. Important: We place great value on personal interaction! Therefore, it would be desirable for you to be in Leipzig in person from Thursday to Sunday. This gives you the opportunity to present your art in direct dialogue with art enthusiasts and to make valuable contacts. (If you are not available on all days but would still like to exhibit your work in the gallery, we can always find a solution. Please include your availability in your application).



The programme for the exhibition weekend is as follows: :

Thursday: Final preparations and 7.00 pm artists’ dinner 

Friday : Opening

Saturday / Sunday :  The gallery’s regular opening hours

Through our Instagram account, which has over 100,000 followers, you’ll gain much greater visibility than other artists who aren’t exhibiting at this time. For around two months, you’ll benefit from at least one Reel (value: over €2,000) and numerous Story features (value: over €1,000). This reach far exceeds the value of your entry fee and ensures massive exposure for your art. In addition, a YouTube video may be produced to promote your work even further.Inspiration and exchange with other artists The exhibition offers you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other artists. This dialogue can be inspiring, open up new perspectives for you and forge long-term artistic connections.Insight into the art market and gallery operations From the planning stage right through to the staging of an exhibition, you’ll gain an insight into the workings of a professional gallery. This knowledge is invaluable for your future career as an artist.Impact on your future as an artist Collectorsvalue artistswho can demonstrate a wide range of exhibition experience. Every exhibition you take part in strengthens your presence in the art scene and shows that you are active and committed.Leipzig as a springboard into the art world With Leipzig as a major art hub, the SKM Gallery offers you the chance to gain a foothold in a dynamic city with a passion for art. This exhibition brings you into contact with an international audience and positions you perfectly for the next step in your career.Opportunity for an Artist Talk In addition, three selected artists will have the opportunity to present their works during an Artist Talk at the vernissage. Together with Anna, you can showcase your art to an interested audience and thereby further increase your visibility.Long-term exposure through brochures The gallery will print 1,000 brochures, which all visitors can take home with them. This allows you to reach 1,000 potential new contacts who will see your art and remember you in the long term.Long exhibition duration and a steady stream of visitors The exhibition runs for at least two months, during which the gallery is always open from Friday to Sunday. This allows you to reach a steady stream of new visitors who can discover and appreciate your works.
