The artwork is supplied unframed
The artwork presents a striking visual contrast: Against a dark background featuring several X-ray images that appear to show vertebrae and bone structures, a bright turquoise-green streak runs vertically across the picture plane. The intense colour of the oil paint is rich and opaque, partially obscuring the medical images beneath. This combination of medicine and art appears both harmonious and rich in contrast, playing on the idea of concealment and revelation. The work is set in a white frame and presented against a lavender-coloured background, which particularly emphasises the colours and conveys a sense of depth and texture to the viewer.
